weighing the pros and cons
PROS:
He--
brings me coffee every morning
is the father of my kids.
has the only steady income in the family
has health insurance too
makes me laugh nearly every day
is smart
has a runner's body, if you know what I mean and I think you do
is often my best friend and has been almost 28 years.
CONS:
He--
won't let me get a cat. Well. He might well let me get one, but it can't live with him.
* * *
I'll get back to you on what I decide. I really want a cat.

Allergies or merely doctrinal objections to felis catus?
ReplyDeleteAllergies -- you're out of luck.
Doctrinal objections -- you have a chance. After all, the list of reasons for him to stay married you to is pretty long, too. Isn't it?
I'm the one with allergies (they're mild) It's definitely a Choice Time for him. He has tolerated cats in the past, but has grown more anti-cat with each passing year.
ReplyDeleteand I don't know about the reasons to stay with me being so very compelling. Truth is, I'm not sure I should push my luck.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Kate. Cats are very important.
ReplyDeleteI am pro-cat, if the opinion of your niece matters. (Mike's probably matters more though)
